Training Opportunities
Both long and short term training livery is available at Gunthwaite Dressage. The livery is high quality with use of all the facilities and individual turnout for your horse when the fields are not boggy, otherwise they go on the walker.
Lessons on your own horse are £40.
Livery prices vary according to what work is being done with the horse/pony.
We are now using our two Grand Prix horses Humble Pie and Jordas in some schoolmaster lessons. The lessons are £65, and what you do will depend on your experience. They are both lovely horses, but as always, riding a schoolmaster is not always as easy as it might appear to be! It is great as an educational experience, and can help you a lot with your own horse as well. Anyone interested in a lesson on one of these horses please get in touch. You must be a fairly competent rider – they are both good boys, but are not dobbins!
Holidays with your Horse or Pony!
You can come and stay for a few days or a week or more with your horse as well. Some people stay in their box, but we can also offer self catering accomodation in either our apartment flat or the static caravan! Staying for an intensive training period can really help to bring you and your horse on. And we are not far from the beautiful Yorkshire Pennines, so you can really have a holiday experience! You can also book some lessons on the schoolmasters to help you learn more about advanced movements if you feel that might help you.
THE YARD
Gunthwaite Dressage boasts top class facilities including a 60m outdoor school and 40m indoor school, both with excellent sand and rubber surfaces that are well maintained. The indoor has Hortech sprinkler system, full mirrors on the short side, and rather stylish decor – huge canvases from Hannah’s days as an art student!
The yard has 23 stables which take up a fair amount of the lovely old Yorkshire farm buildings and some of which are available for liveries. There is a large indoor washing off area .
A super Monarch horsewalker with Kraibug rubbered flooring was added to the facilities a few years ago .
