European Pony Championships

We think the team did an amazing job!

We are very proud of Harriette and Dot at their first Europeans – being first on, on the first day is not easy but they still got a great score! Well Done 🙂

Summary of the competition taken from the BD website –

Great Britain’s Pony riders were up against tough competition at the European Pony Championships in Fontainebleau, France last week (18-22 July).

The event began with the team test and all the British riders put in a fantastic effort. Team newcomer Harriette Williams and Madam’s Miss Maria were drawn first to go on the first day of the team competition and were awarded 67.128%. Phoebe Peters also rode her test on the first day and scored 70.923% with SL Lucci, the highest British score in the team test. Erin Williams with Dynasty and Maisie Scruton with Rembrandt DDH both rode on Thursday, scoring 70.718% and 69.359% respectively.

Despite the team’s best efforts, they finished just outside the medals and had to settle for fourth place in the team competition with an average score of 70.333%. The Germans managed to take top spot with 74.744% with the Netherlands close second (74.128%) and the Danes in third (72.752%).

The individual competition on Friday and Saturday brought with it an improved score for Erin and Dynasty with 71.781% and they finished tenth. Phoebe and SL Lucci were not far behind on 70.439% in fourteenth. Maisie and Rembrandt DDH finished 19th on 69.195% and Harriette finished in 23rd place on 67.512%
Both Erin and Dynasty and Phoebe and SL Lucci went through to the Freestyle on Sunday. Erin finished in seventh place with a score of 74.900% and Phoebe and SL Lucci scored 70.525% to finish in 14th place.
