World Class Development Programme: Registration now open!
Are you an eventer, show jumper, dressage or para-equestrian dressage rider who sees themselves as having the exceptional talent and dedication to ride and win at Olympic and Paralympic level in 2016 or 2020 and beyond?
Registration for the 2014 – 2016 UK Sport Lottery funded World Class Development Programme has now opened and must be completed by anyone wishing to be considered for selection. The Selection Policy and Registration form is now available to download from the BEF website (www.bef.co.uk). Registration for the Programme will be accepted until 5pm on Friday 21 March 2014. The 2014 – 2016 Programme will commence on 1st December 2014 and run until 31 November 2016 (subject to funding).
The BEF’s World Class Programme aims to provide Britain’s elite riders with the best preparation to represent Equestrian Team GBR at Championship level. The Development Programme focuses on the identification and development of future world class riders and horse/rider combinations who have the perceived ability to deliver medal winning performances on the world stage for Great Britain in the future.
The Programme incorporates the three Olympic sports of dressage, eventing, showjumping and the Paralympic sport of para-equestrian dressage. Please be aware that there are discipline specific Selection Policies for each discipline and a generic Registration Form (all riders wanting to register their interest should review the minimum criteria for their discipline before completing the Registration Form).
The World Class Development Programme is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, primarily from the National Lottery, via UK Sport.
